Project Lakou Lanmou

Ernst Louis

Founder:

I am a missionary poet and children’s author born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, currently living in Dacula, Georgia, with my family.

As a young boy in Haiti, I experienced temporary displacement when a hurricane blew the roof off our house. I will never forget the fear my siblings and I felt. Tragically, many Haitian families today face far worse, with no home to return to. Approximately 1.5 million Haitians have been forced to flee as gangs have destroyed homes and taken control of over 80% of Port-au-Prince.

It is easy to feel powerless in the face of such overwhelming tragedy—a feeling I have shared as the situation continues to deteriorate. However, this moment calls for courage, faith, and action to help the victims carry this heavy burden.

For this reason, Project Lakou Lanmou (Project Love’s Courtyard) has been initiated to help meet some of these needs. Will you join me in this cause?

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:10 NIV.

What Is Project Lakou Lanmou?

Project Lakou Lanmou is a creative initiative aimed at building homes in Haiti for families displaced by natural disasters or gang violence. Over the next 20 years, our goal is to build 5 houses per year as funding and local conditions permit. "With God all things are possible."

How will this project be funded?

For every book sold through our website or at vendor and signing events, 50% of all net proceeds will directly fund Project Lakou Lanmou. We view our books as our "5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish," placed in God’s hands to multiply and fulfill this mission.

How can you be involved?
